The date for our Studio Picture Day is still TBD but details will be sent out as soon as available.
Costumes will be sent home with students towards the end of February. A reminder that costumes are provided by DanceWorks Kenora at no additional cost to families. Please be sure to store costumes in a safe place at home. Families are responsible for costumes until after the Recital when they must be returned. Unreturned or damaged costumes will result in a costume replacement fee of $80 (+HST).
Attendance becomes even more important, to your dancer and the class as a whole, once we begin learning choreography. If you know your dancer(s) will be missing class please notify Erin at info@danceworkskenora.com or by texting 807-464-3666.
KDFA Student Choreography
Dancers are encouraged to enter their own student choreography, anything from solos to group numbers, in the Kenora District Festival of the Arts. Syllabus and entry forms are available at kdfa.ca and entries are due by February 17th. Dancers and their families are responsible for completing their own entry forms and submitting both payment and forms to the KDFA by the deadline for the student choreography category.
Routines must be an original work, choreographed by the students without assistance, and must not be taken or adapted from any other source. Feedback will be given with respect to vocabulary used, theme, mood, style, structure and flow, and the use of space. Student choreography entries are eligible for the Adjudicator’s Choice Award for Student Choreography.
