DWK Studio News – December 2017

Hi dance families,

December is just around the corner! (I can’t believe it either). This means that we are just about at our Parent Viewing Week and also nearing Christmas Break.

Ready to Dance Challenge
Don’t forget that this is the final week of the “Ready to Dance Challenge”. Prizes will be awarded to those with ratings of Good or Excellent on their attire, hair, water bottle and dance etiquette and attitude.

Parent Viewing
You are invited to attend your dancer’s class(es) for the week of Monday, December 4th to Saturday, December 9th. Parents and well-behaved siblings are invited to observe class to see what the dancers have been learning. Please be mindful of our limited studio space and keep the number of observers per dancer reasonable. Our spring performances are the time to invite extended family and friends.

Christmas Break & End of Fall Session
Saturday, December 16 is the last day of classes before our Christmas Break. This also marks the end of the Fall Session classes which includes Creative Movement, all levels of Hip Hop, as well as all mini-session classes.

The Winter session of Creative Movement (Tuesday or Saturday) participates in our Year-End Recital on May 12. There will be no Hip Hop in the Winter session as Shyy is set to welcome a new addition to her family. Adult classes (in ballet, jazz, and tap), Pilates, Cardio Dance Fit (new!) and Parent & Tot will continue to run as mini-sessions and registration is now open for those classes at danceworkskenora.com

Winter/Spring session begins and Full Year classes resume on Saturday, January 6, 2018.

DWK Ensemble Performances
Congratulations to the DWK Primary and Senior Ensemble dancers for their excellent performances at the Kenora All Star Cheer & Aerialettes Pre-Season Show this past Friday. Thank you for representing the studio so well and congrats on your first performances of the season!

Both the Primary and Senior Ensemble will be performing next as part of Kenora Opera Theatre’s Hansel & Gretel which is running December 13 – 16 at Knox United Church. Get your tickets to support this wonderful arts event featuring great local talent!

Tuition and Payments
Don’t forget that monthly payments are due on December 5th. If you pay monthly by credit card your account will be processed automatically on the 5th. If you pay by cash or cheque and haven’t provided postdated cheques please remember to send your payment this week. Remember that you can check your payments and fees at any time through the DanceWorks Kenora portal.
