We are just wrapping up this dance year but are already planning ahead for spring/summer and next year’s Performance Ensemble. We have a number of free events, from community classes to Ensemble auditions, that will be happening at the studio next week.

Free Community Classes
We’re offering a few free dance classes to the Kenora community. Come out and give class a try, no experience needed. Already a dancer? Invite a friend to try class with you! There is no cost and you’re not making a commitment to any additional programming. Come on out and get moving with us.

- 5:00 – 5:30 pm – Creative Movement (age 4 to 6)
- 5:45 – 6:45 pm – Jazz & Tap (age 6 to 10)
- 7:00 – 8:15 pm – Contemporary (age 10+)

Performance Ensemble & Solo/Duet/Trio Auditions
Call for Dancers! We’re already looking ahead to the 2023-2024 dance season and want to get a sense of the level of interest in the DanceWorks Kenora Performance Ensemble. This audition style class is open to everyone, including those with no previous dance experience. There is no cost to audition and you are not making a commitment to the program, just indicating a possible interest.
The Performance Ensemble is an extra training program for students and requires an additional commitment beyond regular weekly classes. Students will develop their technical and performance skills while attending workshops or conventions, learning choreography, and preparing for performance opportunities in the community or at competitions. Dancers that are interested in solo, duet, or trio opportunities for 2023-2024 must also attend this audition.

- 4:30 – 5:30 pm – Dance Foundations & Primary (age 7 to 9)
- 5:45 – 7:00 pm – Junior (age 10 to 12)
- 7:15 – 9:00 pm – Senior (age 12+)

Assistant Workshop
We’re hosting a workshop for current assistants and for those that may be interested in assisting dance classes in the 2023 – 2024 dance season. All assistants must be age 10+ and have danced previously with the studio.
