KDFA Adjudicated Dance Performances

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
We require a few backstage volunteers in order to chaperone dancers as they warm-up, ensure they have their proper hair and costume, assist with any quick changes, etc. All non-volunteer parents will get their dancer settled in and checked in at the “backstage” area (signs to be posted) and then proceed to the theatre area if staying to watch. If you are able to volunteer for one or more of these backstage volunteer shifts please contact Erin.
Backstage Supervisor (3) – 9:00 am to 12:30 pm
Backstage Supervisor (3) – 12:30 pm to 4:15 pm
Assistant Stage Manager (1) – 9:00 am to 4:15 pm
All DanceWorks Kenora Dance Foundations, Primary, Junior, Intermediate, Senior, and Ensemble classes participate in the Kenora District Festival of the Arts. This is an educational performance opportunity where the dancers perform their dance and then return to the stage, along with all performers in their session, to receive feedback from the adjudicator. (Note: Our youngest dancers in Creative Movement and Creative Movement & Tap only perform at our Year-End Recital, they do not participate in KDFA)

Festival Workshop Classes
Dancers have the additional opportunity to learn from the adjudicators in a class setting. Ms. Erin strongly encourages dancers to attend one or more of the Festival Workshops, regardless of previous experience in a particular style. Reserve your spot by completing the KDFA Workshop registration form. Cost is $15 per workshop (cash only). Drop-ins allowed, space permitting.

- Hip Hop (age 12+) with Matt Agoli – 7:15 pm to 8:30 pm
- Sunday, April 2
- Ballet (age 9+) with Laura Elliott – 1:00 to 2:15 pm
- Contemporary (age 9+) with Laura Elliott – 2:30 to 3:45pm
