Hi DWK dance families,

We hope everyone had a good Fall Break week. A reminder that classes are on as usual again and that the Fall 2 mini-session of classes begins this week as well.

Dress Code & Etiquette:

Dancer readiness and ability to learn in dance class is impacted by having the proper attire and hair for each style, bringing a water bottle to class, demonstrating proper etiquette throughout class and having a positive attitude. Please help your dancer to arrive on time, with the proper clothing, footwear, and hair for their class. Remember, you can always check danceworkskenora.com/dress-code if you are unsure on class requirements.

Ballet buns are required for all Dance Foundations and Ballet classes. This is an important step and showing up to class without proper hair is the same as showing up without shoes, tights, or your bodysuit. Need a lesson on how to do a proper ballet bun, please watch this Bun Making Tutorial video.

Hip Hop dancers, outdoor shoes are not permitted in the studio! Please be respectful of the studio space and bring indoor shoes to your class.

Also, don’t forget your water bottle! Even the youngest dancers should have a water bottle as the break for water in these classes can be disruptive to the class if they don’t have water with them in the studio.

We work on class etiquette within class but also have our studio rules and etiquette posted at various places within the studio. If you’d like to review it with your dancer at home you can view it here: DWK Studio Rules & Etiquette

Fall 2 Mini-Session:

Classes start this week including Adult Ballet, Adult Tap, Gentle Jazz & Tap, Gentle Ballet, Cardio & Pilates, and Parent & Tot. A reminder that classes require a minimum enrollment in order to run. Register through the portal or contact Erin at info@danceworkskenora.com if you plan to enroll but haven’t yet.

RWB Concert Hour Ballet:

We are looking forward to the upcoming Kenora Concert Hour Ballet performances by the RWB’s Professional Division students. These dancers are beautifully trained and will put on a great show. Don’t miss it!

They are doing a community show on Wednesday, November 21st at 7:00pm. (There will be no Junior Jazz or Adult Tap on this date so that dancers, and Ms. Erin, can attend the performance.) Concert Hour Ballet will also be doing school shows for students at Beaver Brae and at St. Thomas Aquinas on November 22.

Get your tickets for the evening performance of Concert Hour Ballet at Johnson’s Pharmacy ($25 for adults, $10 for students).
