Hi dance families,
A few studio news items as we finish up the 2024-2025 dance year.
Recital Wrap-Up
Thank you everyone for a great recital weekend! We appreciate the time and energy it takes to get dancers to the dress rehearsals and performances and the support of everyone in the audience. These events are an important part of dance training and are also such a great opportunity to bring our dance community together to inspire and support one another. Thank you for being a part of it!
To those that volunteered – thank you, thank you, thank you! We could not make these events happen without the help of volunteers. We appreciate the care and energy you put into supporting the studio and the dancers. Thanks again!
Don’t forget, the video of the recital performances will be available online from May 23 to June 9, 2025. Each dance family receives a digital download and family/friends that weren’t able to attend in person can also watch via streaming or download through the online ticketing site.
Full Year Classes Continue Through June 20
Don’t forget that all full year classes – Dance Foundations, Primary, Junior, Intermediate & Senior levels- will be continuing through June 20. Now that performances have wrapped up we’ll be returning to a focus on technique, dance combinations, and creative exercises rather than drilling choreography. Have a spring activity that conflicts with your normal class time? Dancers can change to another level or style – get in touch with Ms. Erin to arrange a transfer if needed.
New students can also join us for the 5 weeks of spring classes from May 20 through June 20, if you know anyone that is interested in dance this is a great time to try a class and get a sense of what it is like. If your dancer is interested in a new style they can also add a class (or take these weeks to use any make-up classes you have available from previous absences during the year).
Winter session Creative Movement classes have their final classes on Tuesday (4:00 to 4:45 pm) and Wednesday (4:00 to 4:30 pm) this week. Dancers from any of the Creative Movement or Creative Movement and Ballet/Jazz/Tap classes are welcome to attend either of these classes this week. Costumes can be returned then and we’ll be focused on finishing things up with creative play based classes now that performances are done. Not ready to stop dancing? We have 5 week mini-session Creative Movement classes on our spring schedule, sign up online through your portal account.
Costume Return Dates
Costumes can be returned to the studio during regular class times beginning now through Monday, May 26. Late costume returns, past the 2 week deadline, will result in a late return fee of $30 for each costume. Unreturned or damaged costumes will result in a costume replacement fee of $95 for each costume.
If you need to return your costume outside of normal class times you can do so on weeknights from 5:00 pm to 8:30 pm until May 26 (with the exception of the evenings of May 15 & 19 when the studio will be closed). You may need to knock on the dance studio door when classes are running so that the instructor can accept your costume and sign it in as returned.
Summer Camps
Registration is open for our summer dance camps. We’re thrilled to welcome Kirsten and Molly back as our summer instructors for 2025. Summer camps include dance technique as well as art and other creative activities. We have a variety of camp options, from half-day mini camps for ages 5 to 7 and weekly full-day camps for ages 7+. No previous experience is required.
