Hello DWK families,
A few updates as we continue through our dance season.
Viewing Week – Sunday, December 1 to Friday, December 6
It’s time for our viewing week! Next week we invite guests into the studio to watch their dancer’s class. This is a great opportunity to see what we have been working on and what a typical dance class looks like. We ask families to limit guests to 2 per dancer so that it doesn’t get too crowded inside the studio. There will be some chairs but guests may also need to sit on the floor depending on class size (our spring performances will be your opportunity to invite extended family and friends).
Hair & Dress Code Reminders
A reminder that hair needs to be securely tied back for all dance classes. Some classes require a ponytail while others require a ballet bun. This allows us to focus on our dancing and our technique during class time rather than being distracted by loose hair, having to stop to fix hair, or hitting ourselves in the face with long hair while turning.
Dancers should arrive for class with enough time to be in their proper clothing, footwear, and with their hair done before class starts. Don’t forget a water bottle too! These items make sure we can dance safely and can get the most out of our dance time each week.
You can review the dress code, watch a ballet bun tutorial video, and buy dance wear through the links on our website at danceworkskenora.com/dress-code/
Pick-up/Drop-off & Winter Boots
For safety we ask that a parent/guardian walk Creative Movement & Dance Foundations dancers to and from the studio entrance. With our new lobby area you are also welcome to come in and help your dancer get their jacket or shoes on/off (and can also wait in the lobby during their class).
Please take off your winter boots as soon as you come into the studio. This will help keep our floors dry and reduce the risk of getting our dance shoes, socks/tights, or bare feet wet while getting ready to come into the studio.
