Hi DWK dance families,

A few updates from the studio for you as we head into December.

Viewing Week – Monday, December 4 to Sunday, December 10

We are excited to return to our traditional in-person viewing week format this year…but with our limited studio space we ask that just one person per dancer attend to observe class (our year-end performances will be the opportunity to invite extended family and friends).

Viewing week gives you the opportunity to attend class with your dancer; to see what your dancer has been working on and also gain an understanding of the structure of dance class and what we work on from week to week. (If your dancer participates in a conditioning class then the adult is welcome to join in for that class.)

Parking for Viewing Week – For those observing classes before 5:30 pm on weeknights please make sure that you are not blocking access to any neighbouring businesses when you park to stay for class. This includes leaving room for delivery trucks to access NAPA’s garage door. You may need to park closer to Dufresne in order not to block the parking lot.

Studio Merch – Final Sale

We’re clearing out the last of our current studio merchandise. These are great options to add to gifts for the holidays or just to buy at a discount and show your support for the studio. There are DanceWorks Kenora t-shirts and tank tops available for just $5 (and a few last youth size small hoodies available for $10). Cash only. All available items are on the rack by the green studio door.

Winter Session Registration

Many of our classes are full-year commitments but for those in session based classes registration is now open for the Winter session. This includes Creative Movement and Creative Movement & Tap classes (in the winter session these classes also participate in our Year-End Recital and fees include costume rental, and a digital copy of the class photo and recital video). Our Winter mini-session classes are also open for registration including Parent & Tot, Gentle Jazz & Tap, and Gentle Ballet. No previous experience required!

We also have a few spots available for late enrollments in some of the full-year classes including any Dance Foundations level classes as well as Primary Tap and Primary Hip Hop. Know someone that wants to join dance? Spread the news, we’d love to have them come and experience the joy of movement.

Payments

A reminder for those paying tuition fees in installments that the next payment will be processed on December 5. If you need to make any adjustments to your payment method please do so through your portal account or let the studio know if you need to make different payment arrangements. 

Attendance & Make-up Classes

Dancers are able to attend make-up classes in another level or style if they have missed their own class for any reason. Just send us an email or a text message to let us know when you plan to attend a make-up class. And if you’re unsure what class to attend as a make-up class please reach out to Ms. Erin for suggestions.

  • January 7, 2024 – Full Year Classes Resume & Winter Session Classes Begin

  • Early May 2024 (TBD) – Year-End Recital
